Self-Awareness Seminar

Sense awareness: Twelve ways to greater power
Seminar presented by Cornelis van Dalen, Homoeopath–Naturopath

Date: Saturday 15 November 2008 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm
Venue:19 Compton Terrace, Islington, London

Sense awareness is self-awareness
“Why do I feel dizzy?”
“When travelling, I am already at my destination!”
“I smell something good.”
“I am deeply touched.”
“I am a better listener when I sit in a comfortable chair!”
“I feel pain.”

We tend to accept we have only five physical senses (taste, touch, smell, seeing, hearing). Additionally, there are 7 other senses, which when revealed to us, expand our understanding of what we are as human beings.

The twelve senses can be called twelve aspects of consciousness, twelve facets of the human being. Become aware of these senses and so develop them, you enter into a deeper relationship with people and the world.

By identifying and appreciating your senses which underlies everyday experiences you develop power over circumstances and life. This improves well-being through greater meaning to everyday living experiences. Sense awareness opens gateways to reality.

Twelve ways to greater power
The twelve senses are divided into three groups or functions:
•    Senses related to thinking;
•    Senses related to feeling;
•    Senses related to willing - for action, to doing.
Another way to group the senses are the four subjective outer senses, four senses oscillating between outer and inner, and the four inner senses.

And what are the twelve senses?
• Sense of touch and the life sense • Sense of self-movement and the sense of balance
• Smell and taste • Sight and temperature sense
• Hearing and speech sense • Concept sense (thinking) and ego sense (the – I –). Fascinated?

Sense awareness is reality
In this seminar you will begin to learn:
•    How to improve social relationships;
•    Improve the ability to communicate with the other people;
•    Learn the recognise others around you from an enhanced position;
•    A new perception of reality.

The subject of the twelve senses provides for a challenging afternoon’s learning. The subject comes alive with practical demonstrations and experiments, and promises to be a rewarding, enlightening and light-hearted introduction to self-awareness through the senses.
